The mission of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is to help build the sense of community at the school through family outings and events, and to provide support to the school, teachers and parents through volunteer support.
The PTO welcomes the participation and input from parents, grandparents, staff and children. There are many different ways to get involved at DMA:
During the school year, meetings are alternated between the second Thursday and Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM (unless otherwise announced via e-mail or letter sent home). We meet at the school.
If you want something added to the agenda, please let the PTO President, pto@downtownmontessori.com, know before the next meeting.
Currently, all PTO officer terms have expired, and the PTO President will be ending his term a year early. As a result, the Head of School, faculty and Board of Directors will take the summer break to evaluate the role the PTO will fill to support the strategic goals and mission of the school.
The PTO is a vital part of the DMA community, and the Board and administration would like to encourage any and all parents interested in participating in the PTO in the next school year to provide their names and contact information to Liz (lbecerra@downtownmontessori.com).
