Enrollment
Downtown Montessori Academy admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin. Children from ages 2 and a half through the grade 8 are eligible for application to Downtown Montessori Academy. Children 5 and older must have prior Montessori experience to attend our school.
As a City of Milwaukee charter school, children who reach age 4 by September 1st of a given academic year can be enrolled in our half-day kindergarten program. Those who are 5 may enroll in our full-day program with tuition covered by public funds. This also applies for children in the elementary program.

Pre-Enrollment
Visit
Before a child enters the school, we encourage the parent to attend a Parent Group Tour to learn about our program, our philosophy, the Montessori method and school policies and procedures.

*Our Group Tour has concluded for the year. However, we have just added a few dates in February for a short, school day visit if you were unable to attend in January.
We are excited to offer you the opportunity to visit the school during normal school hours. Keep in mind that lead teachers will not be available to meet with because they will be teaching. For these tours, we are asking that parents do not bring their child.

Acceptance Process
Students are accepted by way of lottery until February 29, 2024. Any students not accepted after the initial pull are put on the wait list, any applications received after Feb. 29 are added to the wait list.

After your child is accepted, a non-refundable registration fee of $50 is required only for those applying for the before-and-after school program. Additionally, all children who are 3 years old are required to pay this fee.

Acceptance letters for the 2024-2025 school year will be mailed out mid-March. If you do not receive an acceptance letter by April 1st, please email Jessica Rodriguez to see where your child is on the wait-list.
